Equestrian riders of all types and skill levels won’t want to miss the opportunity to tie up to the hitching post at Willow Creek Saddlery. Owners Todd Woodson and Grant Muller offer a full slate of sales, repairs, and restoration services at their newly opened shop, located just north of Fayette along Highway 150.

“Although we cater to trail riders, we also have a large variety of supplies for cutters and roping,” said Woodson.

In addition to shoeing horses, the 48-year-old previously operated a saddle repair shop out of his rural Oelwein home.

“I always talked about being his competition,” smiled Muller, while explaining the new partnership. “He had the knowledge and tools, and I had the location.”

Both men note that Willow Creek Saddlery is ideally located near the popular equestrian trails and campground at Volga River Recreation Area.

The featured saddles are custom-made Circle G saddles, which vary in price from $85 to $2,000. In addition to consignment items, the walls and shelves are stocked with various bridles and other tack, horse supplements, fly sprays, and a variety of other merchandise.

“Our goal is to make Willow Creek Saddlery a one-stop shop for all equestrian supplies,” said Muller, a 2002 North Fayette graduate.

Willow Creek Saddlery has tentatively scheduled a grand opening for Saturday, May 25. It will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week, during the summer.
