Bank 1st President and Chairman John A. Grimes is pleased to announce the promotion of Tobin Lee Britt to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bank 1st. Grimes conveyed that as CEO, Britt will oversee the day-to-day operations of Bank 1st.

“Tobin’s understanding of banking, coupled with his diverse experiences, will allow decisions to be made in the best interests of Bank 1st and its customers,” said Grimes.

Britt has 17 years of banking experience, including 14 years at Bank 1st. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. In addition, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Drake Law School in Des Moines, and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wis.

Tobin and his wife, Anne (Halverson), reside in West Union. The couple have two children, Zander, 11, and Claire, 8. Tobin is actively involved in numerous community organizations and events.

At the same time, Bank 1st President Grimes announced the hiring of LeAnn Meyer as operations officer at the local banking institution.

“LeAnn will be a welcomed addition to our staff,” said Grimes. “Her experience and accounting degrees will enhance and complement our team of professionals at Bank 1st.

“The bank’s board of directors is confident these changes will ensure that Bank 1st will remain a locally owned, locally controlled community bank,” he added.

Grimes noted that Meyer has six years of experience as a state bank examiner with the Iowa Department of Commerce-Division of Banking. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s Degree in accounting; she also possesses a CPA license.
