The inaugural North Fayette Valley (NFV) musi-cal will take center stage at the Performing Arts Center in West Union beginning Friday.
Due to the TigerHawks' playoff football game on Saturday, the high school musical cast and crew mem-bers are set to feature “Fid-dler on the Roof” at 6:30 p.m. in the NFV Performing Arts Center on Friday, Nov. 15, and Monday, Nov. 18. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee performance on Sunday, Nov. 17. The origi-nally scheduled Saturday performance has been can-celed.
The popular musical is about life in a small Jewish village in Russia at the time of the revolution at the be-ginning of the 20th century.
The story follows the life of a Jewish father, Tevye (played by Dakota Moore) and his wife, Golde (Dayle Lantzky), as they experience the joys and sorrows of their three eldest daughters get-ting married.
The eldest, Tzeitel (Gabri-elle Hemesath), is arranged to be married to Lazar Wolf (Jacob Guenther) by the Matchmaker (Caryn Stew-art) but instead marries a tailor, Motel (Devon Mon-nahan).
The second daughter, Hodel (Samantha Ohlson), marries university student Perchick (Sam Poppen), and the third daughter, Chava (Leah Reierson), runs off with Russian soldier Fyedka (Roy Moore).
Through it all, the customs and traditions of the Jewish community, led by the rabbi (Mitchell Carlson), are chal-lenged by influences of the outside world and by the “ethnic cleansing” in the pogroms initiated by the Russian tsar.
Additional characters/cast members include the fol-lowing:
