Hruska builds in-home business

“I was searching for holiday outfits for Rowan, and they had cute outfits but they were so expensive,” explained Jenny (White) Hruska.  “So I just thought, you know, I think I can make that.”

And so she did. Hruska began creating holiday outfits for infants and toddlers when she wanted one for her youngest daughter, Rowan.  The hobby has morphed into an in-home business that is now called Three Sisters Styles.

“It’s funny, because I’m not crafty at all. I’ve never done anything like this, but I enjoy it,” Hruska laughed.

The local entrepreneur creates outfits with onesies, tutus, and headbands for girls, as well as fun outfits for boys, at an affordable price.  Her younger sisters, Jodi (White) Cardo and Jayme White, began helping Jenny grow her business in November.

“I named it Three Sisters Styles because Jayme and Jodi have been great about sharing my Facebook page and telling people about what I’m doing.  They are always sending me ideas for different kinds of outfits I can make, too,” Jenny explained.

With the help of her sisters’ promotional efforts, Hruska began selling her handmade outfits in November. Her fiancé, Justin Miller, also helps by taking care of the kids and occasionally delivering merchandise.

“I didn’t think it would grow so much so fast,” the busy mother of three admitted.

Hruska, who has made sales all around Iowa, recently made a sale in Connecticut, and word continues to spread quickly.
The business owner moved to the Elgin area from Waterloo about five years ago. A certified dental assistant, she is the mother of three girls, 6-year-old Kaylynn, 5-year-old Kenzie, and 4-month-old Rowan.

Hruska’s business has grown rapidly in large part because of her Facebook page:  Her styles will also be available at Resale Therapy, a consignment shop located in Clermont.

Hruska takes special order requests and is always excited to try new things with her creations.
